About Us

I bought my first flat in Spain in the mid 80’s without ever having visited the country, let alone seen the property. It made sense as an investment and whilst I wouldn’t recommend that anyone else should do the same it began a love affair with this wonderful country.

On our first visit to that apartment my wife and I decided that  we wanted more than holidays and decided that we were coming for good the first chance we got! We toured the country from one end to the other but in the end we settled in rural Andalucia and have never, ever, regretted the choice.

We began selling country property near Velez Malaga in the Axarquia area of Andalucia, southern Spain in the early days of the internet. It quickly became apparent that the typical internet client was knowledgable and well researched and always on the look out for a bargain! With this in mind the area we cover in Andalucia has changed and grown as we have boldly gone where no estate agent has gone before to find those special, undiscovered gems!

Today, as traditional destinations like Spain, France and Portugal become less affordable, many people are looking from choice or necessity at the so called “emerging markets” we too are now looking at other countries. We have two golden rules however;  we will only sell where we would want to live or holiday and we sell at local prices!

Hi Bill: Great website. How are you doing, and how is your business in Punta del Este? I was there for two months recently, and it seemed much more expensive to me that 2 years ago when we bought there. Food, gasoline, and real estate have increased quite a bit over that period. Now quite so bad if you're paying in euros or Stg. My local agent there says his business is off 50% from last year, with people looking but needing much more time to buy than 2 years ago. Are you still living in Spain? Gilman Gunn

Uruguay

Hi, just seen your message. It's anew and updated site and I haven't got the hang of all the features yet! In Euros and Stirling Punta is still cheap. Inflation across the world has had an impact but the continuing weakness of the $ makes anywhere that uses the $ cheap. Uruguay in general and Punta del Este in particular is pretty well unknown in Europe so as far as interest is convcerned we are starting from a low base. However, with Uruguay's underlying attractions the only way is up! And yes, I am still living in Spain but I have a house in San Rafael which we will be wintering in this year! We expect to come out after Christmas and stay 'till Easter so we get 2 summers every year.

International Property

Looks like a great time to buy, especially if you don't need to sell something right now there are some good deals around.

Great Time to Buy

You are absolutely right! When the market is down is the time to buy but most people miss the chance because they wait until it turns. And when it turns all those people offering to negotiate or cut their price suddenly toughen up.

Sao Paolo

Hi, Greetings from Singapore. We are developers of various branded limited service hotels and are currently sourcing to buy land in Brazil. We would like to target key tourist cities and hotel belts. We plan to build a chain of these hotels. We need a land area of approximately < 10,000sqft. Old abandoned or run down buildings/shophouses may work if the prices are below valuation as we would need to demolish these structures. Please try to avoid odd shaped lots. Our preference would be tourist belts in major cities and NOT beaches/resorts. Kindly check if land is commercially zoned and hotel may be built on it. We WOULD NOT be interested in buying over existing hotels or hotel structures as the business model of our hotels are different. We will build our flagship hotels in Sao Paulo. Please send us details of the properties you may have in your database for our evaluation. Kindly email us the location map, indicative price, land area, type of title, photos of the mentioned property. If the property is shortlisted, our director and CEO will be in Sao Paulo beginning of June to view sites. Please include your company profile. Thank you and best regards.
