Life can be frustrating! We have some wonderful bargains for sale at the moment and I am always disappointed when our clients miss out by not buying.  Unfortunately exaggerated and inaccurate reporting of the economic crisis has given a lot of people a false picture of what is happening n the Spanish property market. Yes, prices are down and yes there are desperate sellers. Most people however are limited in the amount they can reduce their price by the size of their mortgage or by a natural unwillingness to lose money. So they settle down to sit it out. When the bargains come to market they are one off’s which can’t be replicated. Too many clients miss out because they are looking a gift horse in the mouth.

This week we have seen two responses to the slow market with some bargain houses being rented long term and others being snapped up by the people who best know their value; local Spaniards. They are now the big buyers in the market and I‘m just  sorry that a lot of clients who are now prevaricating  will be buying these properties at a much higher price when things pick up.

So what is the message; if you see your dream home at an attractive price don’t miss out in the hope that something even better might come along later. A bird in the hand is after all worth two in the bush!
